I loved this book. Don't read it in bed unless you want to be up all night. I couldn't put it down. If you have never had a gay friend...you need one. Marc is hilarious yet touches on very serious issues facing women in a society bent on youth and beauty. You have to read this as though Marc himself was in the room. It is written from a best friend's point of view. He is obviously a very caring person and has terrific insight into the female persepctive, yet he does give you clues as to how men think and what makes them tick. His advice is right on the money. If you are uptight about graphic language you may want to pass, but if you have a sense of humor and have ever felt like you weren't good enough, or skinny enough, or loved enough you may want to read 'Your little Gold Mine'. I've already passed it along to two friends of mine and they both loved it too.Product details

I was told by a friend,” Just read through it and don’t skip.” My advice after reading it, SKIP AT WILL. The first half was the same old advice, with contradictions There is nothing wrong with you, but now, let’s change your clothes, hair, and attitude, etc.? Say What? Let’s face it, you can’t take the whole book to heart. It’s meant to be a little tongue in check, after all it was written by a gay man. That being said, the writer does love & respect his Mom, was raised with sisters, even raised a daughter, and is still on good terms with his ex-wife….So that does say a lot about his frame of reference. I thought the book had humor (yes, the name calling and swearing are there) but we are all adults. The 2nd half was more serious, how to recognize stalkers, abusers, sociopaths, religious fanatics, etc. and far more interesting. I kept making references to parts in the book throughout my conversations, so eventually I bought books for my daughters too.
At first, I thought this might be kind of a fun little title. I really didn't know what to expect by it, but I kept an open mind.
It's the same ol' sad advice to keep a man. Whatever. If you read Seventeen Magazine very much in the last 20 years, you already know what you need to know. And if you didn't, well, save your money.
Mr. Dwayne has his moments of humor and truth, but for the most part he is just condescending and doesn't offer anything new. And he curses. A lot. Calls his reader names like beyotch. (spelled a bit differently)
Yeah. I don't need to be called names. If you give your hoo-hah away to any man that comes along, then maybe this book is for you. If you know how to close your legs and wash your hair periodically, then you already have what you need. Totally don't recommend this book at all.
